Pippi Longstocking
by Astrid Lindgren

Pippi Longstocking is a book about a girl who doesn't have any parents and lives alone in a house with her pet monkey and pet horse. The book is funny and has unrealistic but silly dialogue. there are many twists and turns to the story as Pippi has many adventures. I gave the book four stars because it got confusing at times. The chapters are short so you are constantly changing subjects, which is why I found it confusing. Overall I would say this is a quick, fun summer read.

Fish in A Tree
by Lynda Mullaly Hunt

I found this book to be very inspiring. Ally has dyslexia and was falling behind at school. Kids made fun of her and called her dumb. But everything changed in fifth grade, when Ally met her teacher Mr. Daniels, Mr. Daniels challenges Ally and helps her overcome dyslexia. Ally learns that anything is possible and goes on to help her brother learn how to read.

Trial By Fire
by Norah Mcclintock

I loved this book! It is a short mystery. Perfect for readers that struggle to pick up a book. The book is quick-paced and draws you in right away. I am a person who struggles to read, however; I could not put down this book.
